Somehow we're already into the second month of 2013, so it's about time for a debut indie release, coming in the form of three piece Qtier and 'The Still' EP.
With a mellow blend of soft layered synths and hushed leading vocals, the London based band's sound could be described as what might have happened if a less pop driven Mansions On The Moon had formed in somewhere in Shoreditch and collaborated with The XX. Not that their music isn't accessible, in fact the multiple layers of melodic guitars, crisp percussive elements and soft vocals make for a richly harmonious listening experience that's almost impossible not to enjoy.
As debut releases go, the two track 'Still' EP is one hell of a first effort, with the dreamy title-track 'Still' and the more acoustically warming 'Drift' both seriously impressing us.
Qtier have certainly got our attention and after such an outstanding start, we simply can't wait to here more from them.
