Wildcat! Wildcat! - End Of The World Everyday (Vindata Official Remix)

We're big fans of the Wildcat! Wildcat! sound here on The HotBox. So naturally, when the band got in touch to share some remixes, we were keen to see what kind of new could come out of the old, so to speak.
There's always a certain amount of fear and uncertainty when dealing with a remix. Whilst you expect to hear something new, the track should also act as a homage to the original mix. It's a tough balance of keeping the intended feel intact but adding another layer.
However, with Vindata's reworking of 'End Of The World' we can confidently say that goal has been achieved, with a track that is simply just spectacular in every way. The remix keeps all the upbeat melodic charm of the original, whilst broadening the scope a little. With a 4x4 rhythm and a deep 'Tropical Electro' vibe, the track is now just as suited for the poolside dance-floor as the headphones of many a young indie rocker.

No Doubt - Settle Down (Baauer Remix)

With the official release of 'Settle Down' and the announcement of their forthcoming album 'Push & Shove', No Doubt are officially, well and truly back...for better or worse..
But with the release of any single, comes the torrent of remixes and in the case of 'Settle Down', the official remixes (from the likes of Major Lazer, Stephen Hilton and more) have very much impressed, with Brooklyn based Baauer's remix being our personal highlight of the pack.
Baauer has both honored the original's tone and structure, whilst simultaneously adding a whole new tropical and bubbly vibe to the track.
It's one hell of an achievement, so check the Baauer remix below. For the doubters, there's at least one thing we can all appreciate about the resurgence of No Doubt, no more awful solo stuff from Gwen Stefani! WANT MORE? Then follow The HotBox on Facebook and Twitter

Moon Boots - Got Somebody (Hannes Fischer Edit)

We've yet to be disappointed by anything in our inbox from German House producer Hannes Fischer, and his most recent edit is no exception. Under the production knife this time is Moon Boots’ electro hit 'Got Somebody!' Once again Hannes has worked his magic, altering the track in a way that both acts as a testament to the original and adds that House groove we all love. Moon Boots himself has said of the track, 'Hannes Fischer has taken “Got Somebody,” sped it up, spaced it out, and spiced it up with some Berlin deep techno flavors. I love it!' We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves.

The M Machine - Faces

San Francisco-based trio, The M Machine are some of the freshest faces on Skrillex’s burgeoning OWSLA imprint and their track 'Faces' is really starting to blow up across the internet. 'Faces' is one part of The M Machine's debut 'Metropolis Pt.1' LP and though the track has already received a great deal of promotion via Skrillex, any attention is well deserved by this excellent and highly unique release. Rather than just following in the wake of Skrillex’s high energy 'Brostep', The M Machine have taken a much more melodic, chillwave approach to bass music in 'Faces'. The result is a kind of post-dubstep, progressive and vocally-driven synth-pop. However, as it lingers somewhere around the 140-160 beat mark and combines multiple electronic music elements, pigeonholing this track into one genre box is naturally a little challenging. In this case you'll just have to gauge for yourself, as the track certainly warrants a listen. Preview in the player below and (right-click) download for FREE here.

NeonFaith - Escape

“Escape” is the first official single from the band NeonFaith. Based in Queens, New York, the band's particular blend of mellow guitar and synth leads comes across extremely well in 'Escape', with finishing touches in the form of a heavy electronic drumbeat and soothing female vocals.
As debut tracks go, this chilled out beauty is right up there with the best and well worth downloading for FREE via Soundcloud. While you're there, show NeonFaith some love for the FREE download.....
NeonFaith have an EP on the way, so keep an eye out, we can't wait to here more from these talented newcomers.

Ellie Goulding - High For This (Weeknd Cover)

Even though we all secretly love a bit of Ellie Goulding, she's not normally the type of person we'd feature on the HotBox, well not unless it's yet another remix. However, this time Ellie is doing the remixing with her own take on The Weeknd's 'High For This'.
She gives it her own 'pop'-edge which is surprisingly charming and well worth checking out, especially since it's available for FREE here.

The Temper Trap - Need Your Love (RAC Remix)

It seems like we haven't really heard from aussie indie outfit The Temper Trap in almost a year. Apparently they've been working on their second, self titled studio album due for release on May 21st. 'Need Your Love' is one due to be one of the lead singles off the album. With RAC on remix duty, the lads have, as usual, provided some up-beat indie pop as their production talents continue to go from strength to strength.

Wildcat! Wildcat! - Mr. Quiche (The Dirty Tees Official Remix)

We're big Wildcat! Wildcat! fans here at the HotBox. So when they sent over The Dirty Tees remix of their single 'Mr. Quiche' we immediately had high expectations......and we sure as hell weren't disappointed. Canadian remix maestros The Dirty Tees have taken the catchy indie tune, and completely transformed it, whilst somehow retaining all the catchy charm of the original.
It's hard to pigeonhole this track into just one genre category. The opening seems almost dub/reggae inspired, but the track quickly builds up with trance like synths before crescendoing into an epic bass heavy electro soundscape. It's extremely hard to find the words to do it justice, so instead i'l direct you to listen below and experience for yourself, and download for FREE.

A.F.T - Artific!al 80s [Part I & 2]

It seems like these days if you want that 80s electro fix you've been craving, then you'll need to reach out towards France to get it.
Last week we wrote about the electro stylings of Paris' Wize, but this week it's Grenoble's A.F.T who has our attention with his instrumental electro ballads 'Artific!al 80s' parts 1 and 2.
Both tracks are available for FREE and will provide you with that personal 80s soundtrack you've probably been craving ever since watching the movie Drive.

Kimbra - Remix EP

Kimbra is probably best known for her part in in Gotye track 'Somebody That I Used To Know'. However, she is of course, an artist in her own right and her debut album ‘Vows’ is due for release May 22, featuring several brand new songs in addition to tracks from the platinum- certified Australian edition of the album.

Man Without Country - Foe (Album Sampler)

It's hard to describe Man Without Country's particular sound. It's kind of like a blend between New Order, Cut Copy and Carousel.
They are effortlessly reminiscent of that 80s New Wave sound, whilst simultaneous encompassing electro/trance melodies and Indie mood laden lyrics.
As difficult as they are to place, the South Welsh band's latest effort is nonetheless a highly accomplished and enjoyable listen.
Although sampler, this 5 track preview of forthcoming album 'Foe' is well worth picking up for FREE here in anticipation of the full release, due in June.

Sailor & I - Tough Love (Wize Remix)

About two months ago, Stockholm based Sailor & I. A released “Tough Love” and since then a few great remixes of the track surfaced the the internet. Amongst the best is the remix by Parisian producer Wize. If you're a fan 80s style synths and electro pop then you're bound to enjoy his production style.

Converse has struck again with another promotional FREE release, this time bringing together Mark Foster (of Foster the People), A-Trak and Kimbra to create the track 'Warrior'..............the track definitely reflects that Foster the People sound, with no sign of A-Trak in there really, but that's no bad thing.

Mixtape: Dropxlife - Furthur

Seems like all the best producers are happy to remain an enigma these days......
Todays mysterious talent is Dropxlife, one of The Weeknd’s XO Crew and producer of some of the tracks on the 'Thursday' mixtape.... though this will come as no surprise to Weeknd fans upon their first listen as they hear that familiar, chilled out, spaced out RnB sound.
