Yuna - Live Your Life (Remixes)

Up and coming Malaysian artist Yuna is starting to make an imprint overseas with her moody track “Live Your Life”, produced by Pharrell Williams. It's a great track (check the player below), especially for the indie fans among us and is available via iTunes.

Black Matter & Monolith - Better Off Alone (Rework)

Stanton Warriors & Tensnake - Coma Cat (Stanton Warriors ReBump)

In 2010 Hamburg's own Tensnake dropped the anthem 'Coma Cat', complete with sweet summery vibes and  a fairly epic music video.
It may be along way from summer now, but that hasn't stopped remix genius Stanton Warriors from taking a crack at splicing, shifting and reinvigorating this house anthem. A what a job they've done, a slight key change, a few chop ups and bit of magic has kept the summery vibes of the song, while adding a dancier...almost euphoric dimension to the track.
I wouldn't say that 'Coma Cat' has been dead since 2012 (I still love the original long time), but the Stanton boys have still managed to give it a whole new lease of life....and that's how you 'ReBump'.

Yeo - At Rest (bunterhund Remix)

bunterhund (literally colouful dog by my German) is a young up and coming house/electro producer from Hamburg. Having done several remixes under different pseudonyms, bunterhund's style has evolved to the point of reach a slightly more minimal house vibe, as demonstrated in his latest remix of Yeo's 'At Rest'. Bunterhund has transformed this folky/indie ballad, into a funky yet chilled track that you'd expect to see on a Café Del Mar mix. Check it out below and grab the FREE download while you can.

Nino Hernandez - Funk 'C'

Way behind on this one....nevertheless it's always good to hear a blast from the past that really impresses, even if you over looked it previously.
On that note I present 'Funk C' by Nino Hernandez.

“Funk ‘C’” is not five minutes of forgotten jazz house by the world’s smallest man, but by a mystery producer of unknown name or origin.

Dating from some time in the early 00s, “Funk ‘C’” is a house classic that never quite was. Despite possessing all the ingredients (just listen to those horns!) to become a hugely popular track, this remains something of a secret held among house fans. Until now, that is…

Killed It - Pecknam's Dirty Secret

I get sent alot electronic of music and I really appreciate it. However, unfortunately the vast majority of it just isn't quite ready for the HotBox.
However, every now and then I recieve a little gem or two. Today's came from Jack Aisher aka Killed It, an up and coming DJ/Producer from South London. Killed It has a funky, electro sound that's reminiscent of classic Justice or even Daft Punk.....however, while the influences remain clear, tracks like 'Pecknam's Dirty Secret' still retain their own unique flavour with an interesting mixture of disco vibes and dirty basslines.
The material might be a long way from release yet, but Killed It is definitely worth checking out, let's hope he gets some much deserved label attention....check his two latest releases below.
