Synthetic Epiphany - This Lonely House

Apologies for the lack of updates, i've been in production non-stop for the past couple of months but now it's finally time for a chill and with that in mind I bring you the latest production from Synthetic Epiphany.
The track begins with some real smooth acoustic guitar before taking on a more familiar Synthetic Epiphany chilled electric sound, but still stripped back and chilled out enough to stand out...reminds me a little of the kind of tracks you'd find on a Cafe Del Mar mix
If you need to unwind then do yourself a favour and grab this track for FREE here and get some much needed chill time.

Destiny's Child - Say My Name (Synthetic Epiphany Remix)

We've featured Synthetic Epiphany plenty of times before on The HotBox and for good reason; the young UK producer consistently produces high quality tracks, each with the kind of dark introspective vibe that can only come from music produced straight from the soul.
Though his tracks generally tend to take a more minimal direction with overt Dubstep and D&B influences, with this latest remix, Synthetic Epiphany has taken a rare turn toward the groovier side of House and Garage.
The result is solid remix of 'Say My Name', with all the dancefloor and sex appeal of the original riding that 4x4 beat all the way up to 11.

Synthetic Epiphany - Thunderous

If  you're a regular reader, then you'll already be very aware of  British producer Synthetic Epiphany and his consistently solid releases. Though he's no stranger to the broad horizons of electronic music, having contributed to genres all the way from the most obscure minimal ambiance, right to accessible 4x4 House, it seems like he's heading back to his dubstep roots with 'Thunderous'. The track enchants from the offset with a soothing chillstep opening that quickly begins to show it's darker side, before eventually descending into the track's chaotic and aggressive final third. All the way through however, the track remains consistently melodic and captivating, never forgetting the 'dub' roots of dubstep and carefully avoiding the common current mistake of LFO over-usage and garbage 'bro-step' synths.
Fans of that original UK sound will love the depth and breadth that Synthetic Epiphany brings here to a genre that to many is already long beaten to death (dubstep is dead....love live dubstep). Dubstep debate aside, 'Thunderous' stands out as yet another high quality production from a producer we've come to expect nothing less from.

Synthetic Epiphany ft. CoMa - Sleep, The Division

We've covered a lot of stuff from British producer Synthetic Epiphany over the last year, and the fact remains that when it comes to intelligent and well produced chillstep, nobody can touch him. In his latest track, 'Sleep, The Division', he collaborates once more with Coma and her sultry vocals to create a track that is as dark and atmospheric as they come.

Synthetic Epiphany - Stranger

It's been a while since we've had any Dubstep on the blog, fortunately Synthetic Epiphany has come along with 'Stranger'. In true Synthetic Epiphany style, this track isn't just Dubstep by the numbers, it's a slightly different, unusual take on the genre, keeping all the deep bass and aggressive drops you might expect, but with enough variation in the rhythm structure and it's melodic composition to set it apart from the rest. This really is a refreshing track in terms of what has become a rather stagnant genre.
Check it below and grab the full track soon for FREE or Pay What You Want as part of the forthcoming album, 'Infinite Perspectives', dropping within the next week via Bandcamp.

Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (Synthetic Epiphany Remix)

Not a hot minute since the release of his 'Survive' EP and Synthetic Epiphany has already dropped two new bootlegs both with a distinct old school UK Garage flavour.
Synthetic Epiphany has taken Carly Rae Jepsen's  'Call Me Maybe' and in classic garage style has taken a mediocre track and turned it into a proper bassy banger. Fond memories are bound to flood back for old school 90s ravers who will recognise these classic 2step vibes. Honorable mention goes out to Synthetic Epiphany's remix of Little Dragon's 'Little Man', another pop song turned vibey 2step  shuffler which is bound to start tearing up a fair few dancefloors on the underground soon.
Both tracks are available for FREE here and here so grab them now and show some love on Soundcloud.
Big Up the Old School!

Synthetic Epiphany - Survive EP

We've been waiting along time for this and now it's finally here. Ever since Synthetic Epiphany aka Marcus Levy-Chance started releasing his material via Soundcloud, this EP release has been eagerly anticipated, not that this is by any means his full release, but it may be his most accomplished and seasoned to date....and one that we have certainly been waiting for.
The 'Survive' EP is the culmination of that waiting, a collection of highly atmospheric and emotional tracks, arranged around 2step and half time rhythms. You might call it chillstep, burialstep or even future garage, either way this is easily some of the most beautiful and intelligent music that you'll hear this year. Each track is sonically unique in it's own delivery and message, yet they are able seamlessly blend together creating ambient and dreamlike soundscapes...this certainly the kind of EP you'll want to close your eyes to and experience all at once. The stand out track in this regard is 'Breathe' (170bpm edit), whose drum and bass energy sets it apart from the otherwise downtempo feel of the EP, however not in a jarring sense, but rather distinguishing the track as the climatic release of the energy that steadily builds throughout the EP.
The whole EP is available for FREE via Bandcamp as part of Synthetic Epiphany's 'Pay what you want' ethos, but don't make the mistake of taking this as his way of gauging the value of his music, rather this is an EP for everyone, those that can afford and those that can't. Nevertheless 'Survive' is  excellent release and a must download for electronic music fans, listen below and see for yourself.

It's only Tuesday but it feels like it could be the end of an exhausting week already. Luckily Synthetic Epiphany has dropped a nice FREEbie to brighten up it all up.
In a departure from his usual minimal 2step style, 'Ultraviolet' has more of an 8bit style vibe to it, similar in some ways to tracks by Unicorn Kid.

Synthetic Epiphany - Reverence

I know some ambient chilled music might not be the ideal post for a Friday, but i just couldn't hold this one back, especially since this track is doing wonders for my hangover.
Nevertheless, with out further ado I present 'Reverence ' by Synthetic Epiphany.
We've posted stuff from Synthetic Epiphany before and once again he doesn't disappoint, 'Reverence' is a truly mind blowing track, enriched with multiple layers of complex percussion, sub bass and wonderful melodies, all wrapped up in a time scheme that's somewhere between garage and dubstep (that wonderful 140bpm mark). As with his other tracks Synthetic Epiphany has decided to give this one out for FREE, an easy decision then...go grab it.
