Jessie Ware - Wildest Moments (Star Slinger Remix)

Star Slinger's unique brand of vibey hip-hop inspired beats rarely disappoint, and this remix of Jessie Ware's 'Wildest Moments' is no exception. The whole track bounces along around the 130-140 beat mark as house inspired melodies and uplifting piano chords ring through the track. Jessie's beautiful vocals cuts are then expertly manipulated by Star Slinger to create a perfect summer chill out tune. It's no wonder then, that the track been selected as the official remix to paired alongside the original edit of 'Wildest Moments'. Consequently there's no download as of yet, but keeps your eyes locked here for more info on a release soon.

Bwana - Baby, Let Me Finish (Karma Kid Remix)

We love a bit of Karma Kid here at the HotBox and now that he's all set on Bondax's Just Us label, he's set to really blow up. Even though we are a bit late to the game with this one, it's safe to say that his remix of Bwana's 'Baby, Let Me Finish' is straight fire.
With a bouncy 2step rhythm and aggressive synths punching out all the way through, Karma Kid has created a proper banger, not to mention that with Annie Mac behind it, this one is bound to take over dancefloors.

Kimbra - Settle Down (Polaris At Noon Remix)

Kimbra has been featuring in just about every indie release over the last few months and looks to be going from strength to strengths. In terms of her own offerings, 'Settle Down' is easily one of the most accessible songs on her new album, 'Vow' and being largely acapella, is absolutely prime for a bit of remixing. Enter Californian producer Polaris at Noon, who's synthy remix leans the track towards the kind of indie electro/pop fits perfectly with Kimbra's vocal stylings, even if the track starts to evolve a little moombahton edge towards the end.

Polaris at Noon are giving the track away for FREE, so check the track below and grab the download here

Katy Perry - Firework (Wize Remix)

Parisian Wize has given another another track a taste of his 80s style production magic, this time Katy Perry's 'Firework'.
Starting to wonder now if there's nothing this guy can't do, definitely never thought i'd see the day where Katy Perry's name made it onto the HotBox playlist.
As always the track is available for FREE here.....don't forget to swing by Wize's Soundcloud and show hime some love.

The Temper Trap - Need Your Love (RAC Remix)

It seems like we haven't really heard from aussie indie outfit The Temper Trap in almost a year. Apparently they've been working on their second, self titled studio album due for release on May 21st. 'Need Your Love' is one due to be one of the lead singles off the album. With RAC on remix duty, the lads have, as usual, provided some up-beat indie pop as their production talents continue to go from strength to strength.

Wildcat! Wildcat! - Mr. Quiche (The Dirty Tees Official Remix)

We're big Wildcat! Wildcat! fans here at the HotBox. So when they sent over The Dirty Tees remix of their single 'Mr. Quiche' we immediately had high expectations......and we sure as hell weren't disappointed. Canadian remix maestros The Dirty Tees have taken the catchy indie tune, and completely transformed it, whilst somehow retaining all the catchy charm of the original.
It's hard to pigeonhole this track into just one genre category. The opening seems almost dub/reggae inspired, but the track quickly builds up with trance like synths before crescendoing into an epic bass heavy electro soundscape. It's extremely hard to find the words to do it justice, so instead i'l direct you to listen below and experience for yourself, and download for FREE.

Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (ENiGMA Dubz Mix)

This is a bit of an oldie, but this awesome remix by ENiGMA Dubz is well worth reposting. We might not be huge fans of the Gotye original, but this heavily dub inspired remix is probably one of the most chill dubstep tunes of all time.

Portugal The Man – All My Light (RZA Remix)

Portugal the Man ain't nothing to fuck with!

Clearly Portugal The Man are big Wu-Tang fans, or at least that how its seems since they went and reached out to RZA to remix 'All My Light' from last years 'In The Mountain, In The Clouds'.
Whatever the motivation, this is one hell of an interesting collaboration, with RZA's delicate addition of a little more bass acting as further proof that a little bit of Wu Tang can make everything better.

Fixers - Iron Deer Dream (RAC Mix)

It's been a while since we've heard much from remix experts RAC. However it seems like they're back to form with their remix of Fixers 'Iron Deer Dream'.
For RAC fans this track will instantly be familiar as it stays true to their melodic, feet shuffling synth lead formula.....and in true RAC fashion, it's available for FREE here

The XX - Shelter (Beat Culture Remix)

What happens when you take a track by The XX and cross it with the remix talents of 17 year old Beat Culture.......2step, chilled out magic, that's what. It might not be the first remix of 'Shelter' to emerge, but it's definitely one of the best.

Black Matter & Monolith - Better Off Alone (Rework)

If i'm honest, such heavy, pounding electro/techno wouldn't normally be my style, but there's something so fantastic about Black Matter's tribute to the classic 'Better Off Alone' that I just can't describe....besides it brings back fond memories.....
Enjoy and grab for FREE below...

Stanton Warriors & Tensnake - Coma Cat (Stanton Warriors ReBump)

In 2010 Hamburg's own Tensnake dropped the anthem 'Coma Cat', complete with sweet summery vibes and a fairly epic music video.
It may be along way from summer now, but that hasn't stopped remix genius Stanton Warriors from taking a crack at splicing, shifting and reinvigorating this house anthem. A what a job they've done, a slight key change, a few chop ups and bit of magic has kept the summery vibes of the song, while adding a dancier...almost euphoric dimension to the track.
I wouldn't say that 'Coma Cat' has been dead since 2012 (I still love the original long time), but the Stanton boys have still managed to give it a whole new lease of life....and that's how you 'ReBump'.

Radiohead - Codex (Hannes Fischer Edit)

Hannes Fischer has popped up on our radar before and it seems that when it comes to all things Progressive House, this Berliner is one to keep an eye on.
As with his other work, his remix of Radiohead's 'Codex' is well produced and tastefully put together, detracting nothing from the original and adding everything.

Notorious B.I.G. - Going Back to Cali (Viceroy "Jet Life" Remix)

Been a while since any decent new hip-hop made it's way onto the internet, thank god then for remix artists like Viceroy.
He's just launched part II of his "Jet Life" series with a tropical/80s electro remix of Biggie Small's "Going Back To Cali". It might just be the most amazing piece of island vibeyness (its a word) that i've ever heard....if you like your east coast hip-hop and a bit of 80s synth action (and I bet you do) then you'll love this.

Friendly Fires - Hawaiian Air (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix)

Friendly Fires are about to release an album of remixed tracks from their latest album 'Pala'. The album will be featuring the likes of Tensnake, Benoit & Sergio and most importantly Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
If you're a regular here at The HotBox then you'll already know how much we love TEED, and once again he dosen't disappoint, with an awesome, future garage/minimal house spin on 'Hawaiian Air.'
Check it out below, hopefully a d/l link will be coming soon...

Body Language - Holiday (RAC Mix)

Shouldn't need to say to much about this one. It's RAC on duty again...by now you know what that means, they've worked their magic as usual...this time with Brooklyn's Body Language and 'Holiday'.

The Big Pink - Stay Gold + Araab Muzik Remix

The Big Pink are an english indie/electro/rock duo comprising multi-instrumentalists Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell. The duo signed to the 4AD label and since then have released a pretty successful album 'A Brief History of Love'.
Their new album, 'Future This', drops January 2012 and is looking to be pretty sweet judging by the first single 'Stay Gold', it's a great track, although I have to admit the shouts of 'GOLD' really remind me of Spandau Ballet, which frankly makes the track even better.....check it out below.
I've also linked to the Araab Muzik remix...normally im not a massive fan of him, but this remix is pretty decent and doesn't mess with the original too much, just gives it a more intense feel....

Deadmau5 – Aural Psynapse (Myndset Remix)

The remixes are already flooding in for Deadmau5's latest release 'Aural Psynapse'. So far this is the best i've heard, Myndset doesn't mess to much with the original structure, just tweaks things to give the track a little more dance floor appeal...a bit more oopmh! Check the d/l below

Death Cab for Cutie - Some Boys [RAC Maury Mix]

The first thing I should point out here, i am no fan of Death Cab for Cutie, for better or worse they are just lost on me. Nevertheless, RAC seem to have the ability to turn anything into to audible gold. Enter 'Some Boys' remixed by RAC's very own Maury.....with its awesome bassline, strong synth melody, catchy vocal sample.....poptastic indie at it's best.
Sadly no free download for this one, but you can pick it up here
Enjoy
