Anoraak - Made Up + Remix

Fans of synth/pop will likely already be aware of established french indie rockers Anoraak.
Their latest release, 'Made Up', doesn't stray too far away from the indie/pop formula, with catchy hooks, funky guitar lead melodies and plenty of synth accents.
While the original mix is certainly bouncy enough to get feet shuffling, the accompanying Les Loup remix gives the track just that little bit more bass groove and consequent dancefloor appeal. This remix is available for FREE download and sure to be on regular rotation amongst fringe DJs.

Anoraak will be embarking on a tour across Canada and the U.S from the 20th July with College and Electric Youth (see here for more info). In the meantime check out the official video for 'Made Up' here and download the Les Loup remix for FREE here

Yung Life - Yung Life LP

Four-piece indie/pop band Yung Life of Knoxville, TN made their debut last summer with the new-wave focused 'Youth's Hours', the most heavily featured single of which was the lo-fi roller 'I Be Scared'.
Almost a year later, Yung Life are now celebrating the release of their self-titled 10 track sophomore LP.
The 'Yung Life' LP represents another solid effort by the band and growing production standard and maturity through the continued progression (rather than departure) of the band's synth led, mellow indie sounds. Fans of bands such as The Horrors, Wildcat! Wildcat! and Miami Horror will feel right at home here with the band's post-punk, indie pop melodies and accessible lyrics.
Overall Yung Life's self-titled effort is a highly accomplished release, with energetic stand out tracks like the 'Isn't This', 'Holy' and 'Hiding Girl' conveying the kind of 80s influences and indie/pop vibes that a surely a sign of great future success to come.
The LP is currently available for FREE download or 'pay what you want' on their Bandcamp, so preview below and head on over to grab it for FREE.

NeonFaith - Escape

“Escape” is the first official single from the band NeonFaith. Based in Queens, New York, the band's particular blend of mellow guitar and synth leads comes across extremely well in 'Escape', with finishing touches in the form of a heavy electronic drumbeat and soothing female vocals.
As debut tracks go, this chilled out beauty is right up there with the best and well worth downloading for FREE via Soundcloud. While you're there, show NeonFaith some love for the FREE download.....

Ta-ku - Higher (Flume Remix)

I keep saying that all the best music is coming out of Australia these days, and it's artists like Flume that keep leading me to the same conclusion.
If his remix of Ta-Ku's 'Higher' is anything to judge by, then Flume is rocking some serious beat making talent. However, Flume aka Harley Streten certainly isn't just limited to remixes, or even strictly hip-hop production. Some of his original productions dabble with beachy chillwave elements and sounds more towards the indie side of things.
Below are three of our personal stand out tracks, but swing by Flume's Soundcloud to show a little love and grab some music, the vast majority of which is available for FREE.

Minnesota - Astral Projection EP

It's been a while since we last heard from electronic producer and Santa Cruz native Minnesota, looks like he's been busy however and has dropped another collection of FREE tracks. In 'Astral Projection' he's managed to capture a real 'out of this world' spacial feel, incorporating some trance like elements, without veering to far from his usual chilled out dubstep formula.
Fans of heavily synth lead, melodic dubstep will want to check this out. Download for FREE via Bandcamp and swing by Minnesota's Soundcloud for more FREE original tracks and remixes.

Parisian Wize has given another another track a taste of his 80s style production magic, this time Katy Perry's 'Firework'.

The Temper Trap - Need Your Love (RAC Remix)

It seems like we haven't really heard from aussie indie outfit The Temper Trap in almost a year. Apparently they've been working on their second, self titled studio album due for release on May 21st. 'Need Your Love' is one due to be one of the lead singles off the album. With RAC on remix duty, the lads have, as usual, provided some up-beat indie pop as their production talents continue to go from strength to strength.

Man Without Country - Foe (Album Sampler)

It's hard to describe Man Without Country's particular sound. It's kind of like a blend between New Order, Cut Copy and Carousel.
They are effortlessly reminiscent of that 80s New Wave sound, whilst simultaneous encompassing electro/trance melodies and Indie mood laden lyrics.
As difficult as they are to place, the South Welsh band's latest effort is nonetheless a highly accomplished and enjoyable listen.
Although sampler, this 5 track preview of forthcoming album 'Foe' is well worth picking up for FREE here in anticipation of the full release, due in June.

Sailor & I - Tough Love (Wize Remix)

About two months ago, Stockholm based Sailor & I. A released “Tough Love” and since then a few great remixes of the track surfaced the the internet. Amongst the best is the remix by Parisian producer Wize. If you're a fan 80s style synths and electro pop then you're bound to enjoy his production style.
Below i've linked both his 'Tough Love' remix and also his take on Lily Allen's 'Not Fair'...both of which are available for FREE.

Foster The People, A Trak & Kimbra - Warrior

Converse has struck again with another promotional FREE release, this time bringing together Mark Foster (of Foster the People), A-Trak and Kimbra to create the track 'Warrior'..............the track definitely reflects that Foster the People sound, with no sign of A-Trak in there really, but that's no bad thing.

Wildcat! Wildcat! - Mr. Quiche/End Of The World Everyday

Jesse Taylor, Michael Wilson, and Jesse Carmichael have known each other and made music together since they were 14 years old. This recent collaboration called Wildcat! Wildcat! exemplifies quality taste, sexy beats, and beautiful thoughtfulness in songwriting.

Unfortunately the above blurb is all we can tell you about LA band Wildcat! Wildcat!
Despite the lack of info however, this is certainly no band to be ignored. Their blend of indie rock vibes, synth textures, and infectious vocal lines makes tracks like 'Mr. Quiche' and 'End Of The World Everyday', not just some of the best, but also some of the most inventive indie music i've heard in recent months. What's more, the band are currently offering their music for FREE via Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
Grab these two tracks asap and keep an eye out for more from Wildcat! Wildcat! It's been a long time since I've encountered an indie band that really get me excited about music....I see big things ahead for them.
