M83 - Midnight City (Remixé Par Who Killed JR)

I love M83, i really do, but I think we can all agree that 'Midnight City' has been rinsed, remixed and replayed to death. Nevertheless, there are a few remixes that really stand out and Cape Town producer Who Killed JR's is one of them. Check it out and d/l for FREE below.

George Harrold - The Look In Her Eyes

Liquid DnB is always welcome here on the HotBox. Especially when it's by an up and coming producer. Enter DJ George Harold, a trance producer from Wiltshire who has decided to turn his hand to Drum & Bass. The track 'The Look In Her Eyes' is seriously impressive, especially when you considered it's his first delve into the realm of D&B. The bassline is especially deep and rich, just how we like 'em.

Nino Hernandez - Funk 'C'

Way behind on this one....nevertheless it's always good to hear a blast from the past that really impresses, even if you over looked it previously.
On that note I present 'Funk C' by Nino Hernandez.

“Funk ‘C’” is not five minutes of forgotten jazz house by the world’s smallest man, but by a mystery producer of unknown name or origin.

Dating from some time in the early 00s, “Funk ‘C’” is a house classic that never quite was. Despite possessing all the ingredients (just listen to those horns!) to become a hugely popular track, this remains something of a secret held among house fans. Until now, that is…

Mansions On The Moon - Leaves Fall

I've been following Mansions on the Moon since they exploded onto the scene about a year back with their excellent mixtape 'Paradise Falls'. The 3 man group (Lane Shaw, Ben Hazlegrove & Ted Wendler) have already collaborated with Diplo, DJ Benzi and Chiddy Bang’s Xaphoon Jones.
To promote the release of their upcoming EP Lightyears, the guys have made the single 'Leaves Fall' available for FREE. The group has landed The Neptune's own Pharrell Williams as producer for the upcoming EP, who's high quality sound is already evident in this first track. If you like chilled, dreamy electro/rock, with clever lyrics and catchy hooks....then you won't be disappointed. Grab it below...

YesYou - Half Of It

I'm pretty confident all the best new synth/pop is coming out of Australia these days and here's yet more evidence. Brisbane-based duo, Jono Kirkham and Gav Parry, aka YesYou are starting to blow up on the Hype Machine with their track 'Half of It'. Until now these guys were completely off my radar, but I'm so glad they've been brought to my attention. Their single is ridiculously catchy and dreamy synth pop. It's packing some seriously summery vibes too, bound to please the aussies, but just making me a little jealous over here in the middle of the UK winter.
The track is available now for FREE via Bandcamp. Grab it now while it's hot!

League - Your World

Who doesn't love a bit of indie/surf rock, with those californian vibes and laid back guitar melodies you normally can't go wrong.
This is exactly the kind of sound that new comers, League, provide. However, you might be surprised to learn that these guys are Londoners, born and bred. Nevertheless they are producing some awesome music and their track 'Your World', is no exception. The single comes from the band's latest EP 'How Do I Know', which is available now on Bandcamp for just £/€/$1....well worth it I reckon.
