Generally Teen Daze tends to get pigeonholed into that Chillwave category, something that we're a little guilty of encouraging at the HotBox. Nevertheless the canadian has yet to disappoint us yet, and his work on Giraffage & XXYYXX's 'Even Though' isn't just a triumph of internet collaboration over massive geographical distance, but also genre defying, exploratory production.
Although House like rhythms and chords may drive this track, it shines it's verges into garage, even old school breakbeat territory, the likes of which only artists like Zomby have dared to revisit.
This is a track that will bring back memories for some, and stimulate new ones in others, and to cap it off it's available for FREE here.....not too shabby
